At COP29, YNet’s mission goes beyond observing; we are here to assert the critical role of youth in climate policy. Vietnam, one of the countries most vulnerable to climate impacts, has a young population that will be significantly affected by climate change. Recognizing this, we aim to advocate for policies that empower youth as key contributors to climate solutions, not merely as beneficiaries.
Our advocacy at COP29 is anchored in the core themes of our advocacy focuses:
- We urge international and national stakeholders to support climate-smart education, integrating climate literacy and resilience training into curriculums.
- We call for investment in energy transition that ensures equitable access to green jobs, especially for youth, and uphold principles of fairness in the transition.
- We emphasize the urgent need for climate adaptation strategies that prioritize the most vulnerable communities, ensuring no one is left behind.
Through these pillars, YNet aims to demonstrate the unique perspectives and urgent needs of Vietnamese youth in the face of escalating climate impacts.

Tuan Anh is working for his mission of empowering young people to lead the change by coordinating local and regional youth-led climate advocacy campaigns, engage with youth capacity building, youth entrepreneurship, and empowerment for social development in Vietnam and in Asia-Pacific.
